What I wore: Overalls?

After seeing the overalls in Ralph Lauren's spring runway, I really really loved the look. I got these. Yes, overalls are normally totally frumpy, but MAN, they are really comfortable and I thought they looked cute. I wore them out last night, paired with my kick ass cobalt blue heels from Boutique 9 and just a heather grey (duh) tank from Victoria's Secret.

Prada beauty.

I really am digging the hair/makeup at the Prada Spring 2010 RTW show. Pigtails and red lips! Love.

saffron.

I love the color of this dress. I am loving all things saffron and mustard lately.

princess dress!

I just got this new dress from Victoria's Secret. It's from the PINK line (which usually makes me gag) but it's pink and sparkly and has a bustier top! It's perfect! When I went to buy it, the girl at the counter exclaimed, "You're getting the princess dress!" so....pink sparkly dress, I hereby dub thee, "Princess Dress!"

I paired it with my Sam Edelman Kailee boots and some cream color thigh high socks I got at Target! Omgosh, I am in loooove.

tartan want.

I really love this flannel plaid dress from ModCloth. It looks so comfy, and kind of reminds me of a raggedy old flannel art smock that I used to wear in elementary school.

What I wore.

Yellow belt from another dress from Tibi
White Casual T from James Perse
NFY cropped jeans
Frye Paige Cuff boots

Please excuse my hair. I need to get it cut and it is super gross.

monster shoes.

About two years ago, I bought these Sam Edelman knock-off boots of the Balenciaga's Harness from their Fall 2006 line. They were in a shoe catalog from Victoria's Secret and I had seen them and loved them on Mary Kate Olsen and I had to get them. They are probably the most impossible shoes to walk in, so I can't say I wear them a ton. But I try to, because I love them so much!

My knock-offs from Sam Edelman:

Real deal by Balenciaga:

But yesterday when I was at Nordstrom I saw them for sale! They are now available a few years later, which I'm not sure exactly WHY, but maybe they are in demand again? Hmm.

You can get them at Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, and Zappos (among others). Though I am 99% positive I didn't pay the price they are now for these shoes. Weird.

I want this.

Yes.

What I wore.

This is my other dress I have from Rubypearl. I wore it today at first with just the dress (since it was 60 degrees out in Chicago, what the hell? NOT complaining.) and then later I threw on some pants and a tank top underneath it.

First:

Boots: Frye Harness in Tan

Second:

Paired with black leggings, black tank, and Frye Paige Cuff boots.

Yes, that dress is made out of a blanket with mountain goats on it. Hideously awesome.

Hansel, Gretel, and Gaga.

In the December issue of Vogue Magazine, a fashion spread modeled after Hansel and Gretel (played by Lily Cole and actor Andrew Garfield) also features Lady Gaga as the wicked witch! See the slideshow of some of the photos here.

What I wore.

I went and watched the Bears game last night at a bar and went totally casual. This is a boring outfit, but I heart my new James Perse sweatshirt.

I paired it with my Frye Paige Cuff black boots, which are probably the most impossible boots to get on/off ever.

clog. blog.

I remember when I was a sophomore in high school in the 90s I would wear these super thick wool socks and clogs (my total awkward stage, flannel zip-ups, flared jeans, braces, hair parted straight down the middle - all one length). CLOGS. Could clogs be making a comeback with Chanel's new Spring 2010 line? Maybe we can attempt to pull them off, only slightly more fashionably this time (well, we can only hope):

Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 RTW: Lady Gaga edition

When I first saw these shoes from the Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 RTW collection, I thought they were pretty awesome, but who would wear them? Leave it to Lady Gaga to show me who!

If anyone can pull them off, it's Gaga. She wore a few pieces I saw in her "Bad Romance" music video. I love it!

Some more really, really, rad stuff from the collection:

what's the blues, when you've got the heather greys?

Looking in my closet, I seem to have an obsession with buying heather grey t-shirts. I swear that American Apparel's tri-blend track t-shirt is probably one of my favorite t-shirts, ever. It seems like it gets softer and more comfortable every time I wash it. I have three of these (all in heather grey), and it seems like despite all my clothes it's my go-to shirt on the weekends!

Today while shopping downtown I got a James Perse heather grey sweatshirt that's super soft and comfortable too:

Lately I've been into t-shirt dresses too, and this one from Juicy Couture (which I usually hate, ugh) looks so comfortable:

But at $178 it's waaay too expensive, unfortunately!

This one from Urban Outfitters is a cute substitute for $48 (with pockets!):

What I wore.

Today was Veteran's Day and I went shopping because we were off work today. Hooray for bank holidays! The dress is from lily + jae which I got at a boutique in NYC. I paired it with a belt that I got from another dress by Tibi, and my thigh high boots I got from Victoria's Secret.

street finds.

While in NYC there was a bunch of street vendors selling various kinds of jewelry, scarves, and other stuff. I picked up this hat there for only $20! I thought it was really cute, and is pretty warm and bright for winter (which we'll need here in Chicago -- I'll need all the help from Seasonal Affective Disorder I can get in these coming months)!
