smoke. eye.

I really like this eye makeup look and I'm considering doing it tonight for NYE tonight, but I am unsure if I will end up looking like a raccoon.

What I wore: Half day at work!

Today I only worked for about a half day, but I dressed up (slightly) more than I usually do. And well, I got a sweet tulle skirt from Urban Outfitters yesterday, so I just had to wear it today.

If I only had thousands to spend. Which, unfortunately, I dont. Sadface.

more heather grey.

I bought this new t-shirt from Shopbop from Nightcap Clothing. But in heather grey, not in black like the picture. Because I needed another heather grey t-shirt. Duh. But I totally loved the back on it!

snow day!

It's snowing today! I like snow when you don't have to drive in it. I haven't worn the boots I'm wearing in these photos in a while. I got them from Anthropologie a few years ago, and they have little luggage tags on them. So cute. I think they were called "Air Mail Boots" however, I doubt they sell them anymore, at least at Anthropologie. The hat is from Russia, which I got on Ebay. I took me a whole month to get once it was shipped, but totally worth it. Happy Winter!

Butterfly bouquets!

I love this idea from Etsy seller whichgoose of butterflies instead of floral bouquets for a wedding. So original and cute (and hey, less dead flowers).

WANT.

What I wore: Rodarte for Target. Dress #1.

So. Like I said. Yesterday I went to a holiday party and here is what I wore. New Rodarte dress from Target!

Rodarte for Target Crepe Slip Lace Dress
Green belt (I can't remember anymore where I got it, I really wanted to wear a gold belt but didn't have one and didn't have time to buy one.)
White ankle socks from Target
My favorite cobalt blue heels from Boutique 9

But I have 4 more to go! I have 2 more of the Crepe Slip Lace dress, one in a yellow mustard-y color, and one that is more of an ivory, I think. But they both are being shipped to me and I haven't gotten them yet. But I have this one and this one in my possession as of now. I might wear the leopard sequin one for NYE, but I'm afraid it will be too popular and someone else might have the same dress if I go out. (God forbid, I know.)

Oh Muh Guh.

If I had about $700 to spend on a dress, this would be it (ignore the lazy eyed model, thx).

Sigh. Also, I got 3 new dresses from the Rodarte for Target line today! Some of the stuff wasn't nearly as awful as it looked on the model. I'll probably wear one to a holiday party I'm going to tomorrow, so I'll take pictures and such.

Product recommendation: L'Oreal Go360 Facial Cleanser.

I was in dire need for a new face wash, and I picked this up at Walgreens yesterday. I have only used it once, but my face was totally dry (damn you, Winter) and this totally got rid of the dead skin plaguing my face. So, I totally recommend:

It totes comes with it's own face scrubber too! You just pop it out of the little hole in the bottle, and put it back in when you're done. So awesome.

New Years Eve Picks!

So NYE is coming up, and I have no idea what to wear. Granted, I really am not going anywhere special, and I'm seeing the people that I see on a regular basis, and I have no date, but HEY, that doesn't mean I can't dress up, right?

ASOS Wiggle Hem Dress (a cheaper alternative than the Alice + Olivia one)

Though, I have to consult my closet before I make any new purchases on a dress. Hmm.

What I wore.

This past weekend I went out with a few friends to see a friend's band play. That day I found a sweet deal on a dress at Urban Outfitters that looks like it's still going for full price online. I got it for only $30, but it's $58 online! I love that.

Kimchi Blue Knit Zipper Dress from Urban Outfitters
Michael Kors Berkley T-Straps in gray
(though they aren't available in that color at Zappos)
Black knee high socks picked up as an impulse buy at DSW

My necklace is actually a small rodent jaw on a chain that I picked up at the Renegade Craft Fair when it came to Chicago. A store White Rabbit makes them. Maybe it's sort of creepy that I would wear a dead animal jaw on my neck, but I think it's pretty awesome.

Oh my gosh, these ballet flats look so comfortable I just might have to get them. They might be a bit too old lady-ish but whatevs.

Target's Lookbook: Rodarte Letdown Edition

Target finally unveiled their lookbook for Rodarte's line. I am not sure if it's the scary old looking model, or the pieces themselves, but what a letdown. Some pieces separately look a bit promising, and I might check them out when they come out on the 20th of this month, but I'm not really thrilled at anything so far. Yuck. Here's hoping it will look better in the store.

the look: ankle socks.

I love the look of ankle socks with dresses instead of tights or leggings or even knee high socks. A bit childish, but also kinda cute and fun!

snowflake.

Snowflakes! An ode to winter. Though, I hate tons of snow and living in the Midwest you get TONS of it sometimes. This was done with Kryolan silver makeup painted with a paint brush over the entire eyelid, sparkle glitter (somehow I still had this saved from my glory days in college), and a sticker foam snowflake bought at Hobby Lobby.
