So I took this photo for my 365 days project at Flickr. I got the winged hairband from Dark Pony Designs at Etsy. I am not particularly thinking of wearing it out unless it was Halloween or some other type of dress-up occasion (really, where would I wear it?), but I thought it would be pretty cool for photos. Perferably outdoors, but since I'm hibernating until Spring this will have to do.

I love these looks. The solid bold colors...the lack of pants. Backstage at the Derek Lam show.

elephants!
I went shopping at Anthropologie to see if they had any cute baby clothes (Anthro just recently started stocking some really cute stuff for babies) for my sister who is due in March, but they were all sold out!
But.
I got these elephant socks!
Though, they are advertised as over the knee socks, so unless I have abnormally large knees and thighs (ugh plz no), I only see them going up to the knee at best. Hmpf.
I've been slacking on my 'what I wore' posts lately. I don't really have an excuse, just that I've been busy with other stuff. I have about 18 more days left until I leave for Hawaii (SO LONG, 18 degrees!) for 10 days so I've been a major plan-oholic. So far I've planned humpback whale watching, swimming with wild spinner dolphins, snorkeling, a hawaiian luau, LOST hummer tour, a day in maui, and horseback riding on polo horses on the beach! I'm super excited.

fear is a powerful drug...
On Flickr there is a group project where you are supposed to post one self-portrait a day, for 365 days. So in the end, you'll have a collage of photos of yourself each day of the year. Pretty cool, huh?
It's here if you're up for the challenge (you can start anytime!): 365 Days
Anyway, I've been doing it starting January 1st and it's pretty difficult to come up with something interesting per day. But I've managed a whole 26 days so far (with some half-assed photos, most definitely, but I've been trying to make it as interesting as possible)!
Today I was inspired by listening to Bjork's Volta album, and her makeup from it:
I wanted mine to look a little more paint splattered, but I didn't want to get paint everywhere. I used Kryolan makeup, which is pretty awesome if you want BOLD colors. But here's my translation:
Not exactly the same, but I wanted it a bit more abstract. But I still kind of like it. Not anything I would wear out of the house, but fun nonetheless!

...and I am simply in LOVE with this dress. You may have seen it on Lea Michele from Glee when she wore it this past weekend to the SAG awards. It looked beautiful on her. I love the color, the ruffles....everything!

wow just wow.
So I was playing around with makeup out of sheer boredom, and took this shot. And it only reminds me of how much my eyebrows grow downward. Damn you, eyebrows.

Oh my god, these Givenchy sandals are amazing. I want them. Sigh.
But I guess $340 could best be used elsewhere.

What I wore: birthday night in nanette lepore
Yesterday was one of my friend's birthdays, and we went out for tapas and this theater/drinking comedy sketch called Bye Bye Liver. It's sort of an interactive event where they play out stereotypical things that happen during a night of drinking. It was pretty fun! I wore my Nanette Lepore dress.

What I wore: new anthropologie sweater!
So I went to Anthropologie during my lunch break last week, and I thought this dog sweater was so cute. It was on sale, so I bought it. Yes, it's a sweater with DOGS on it, but I like it and even though I might look like a crazy dog owner lady (I'm not...well, the dog owner part at least). I also did a side braid, inspired by the Alexander Wang hair in his SS2010 show that I've seen everywhere now. It didn't seem to stay in tact the entire day though.

new target collaborations unveiled!
Not sure how I feel about the new lines from Jean Paul Gaultier and Zac Posen, but we'll see what they look like in person (that seems to be the norm with any of these collaborations).

addicted to corset tops.
Etsy seller rubypearl just put up some new corset dresses for sale! My favorite is this one, but I don't think it will fit me (I've found I've had to size up from what the size says with her dresses). Sadface. Someone please purchase it and let me live my corset dress dreams through you.

What I wore: owl city.
Ok, so I don't particularly like Owl City. I liked them better when they were The Postal Service. Just sayin'. But. I'm wearing an owl, thus the reason for the title. Please excuse the tangled mess that is my hair -- I need a hair cut. Or at least a brush. Or at least for me to stop searing it on my curling iron.
I really wanted a belt of some sort to go with this, but nothing really matched that I had. So:
Lace Trim Skirt by F21
Shirt from waaay back from Express
Black cable knit tights
Blue heels from Boutique 9
Owl necklace from F21
I also bought a really cute dress and sweater on sale at Anthropologie today, so I'll probably wear them this weekend!
