what i wore: green hibiscus.

Not the most ideal Memorial Day, since it rained the majority of the day.

Dress: From a marketplace in Oahu, Hawaii.
Sandals: Chie Mihara

photography: millennium park/cloud gate.

Yesterday I took a photo class with Chicago Photo Safaris and learned some new things about photography and shot some photos in and around Millennium Park. The class was pretty cool if you are a beginner or intermediate level and trying to learn more about photography (as I am). These are some of the photos I took.

More information on Cloud Gate (aka "The Bean" as it's affectionately known in Chicago) here.

what i wore: crochet roundup.

Last night I went out for a birthday party, and wore my crochet dress again, but decided to change it up a bit. I totally caved and got my Free People horse belt and paired the dress with that along with a few other western-inspired accessories.
Dress: F21 (here)
Belt: Free People (here)
Necklace: Free People (here)
Shoes: Qupid, from Akira
Bag: Vintage, from my grandma!

happy weekend!

It's the start of a warm warm long weekend for me! The unofficial start of the summer begins! I'm gonna try to shoot some photos over the weekend, maybe even try my hand at some new portraits of people that have been swirling around my head, but I'll see how that goes.

denim board.

Polyvore is kinda rad, because you can create outfits and inspiration boards from a ton of stuff on the internet. This is kind of what I was thinking when getting my chambray shirt

what i wore: elementary.

So -- when I was in elementary school, I used to be really into Save the Whales clubs and Save the Manatees clubs. I was even named "Manatee Girl" when I was in, like, 6th grade. For real. I used to draw manatees all the time. Nerd alert. When I saw this shirt at Renegade Handmade, I just had to get it. Duh.

T-Shirt: Renegade Handmade (here)
Shorts: F21
Shoes: Naturalizer
(I think I got them because the shoes I was wearing were killing me, and kind of an emergency purchase. But go figure, they give me more blisters than a lot of my shoes.)

valerie tolosa.

I love these airy spring dresses from Australian designer Valerie Tolosa. I have one of her dresses from her Summer '08 collections, and definitely thinking about getting another one!

wants. (green)

I don't even know how to read this website but I heart this Catherine Malandrino dress. (Which is also very similar to this dress.)

My cat dress from Zara! It's a bit of a total Miu Miu knock off, but you know.

Dress: Zara

Leggings: Plush (fleece lined! so comfy.)
Shoes: Boutique 9

This top is adorable, and I might have to get it.

peonies.

It is finally Peony season! I wish I had a backyard where I can grow some of my own. Only I'd like a yard that mowed itself and any work I had to do involved planting flowers. Because that other manual yard labor is for the birds, you know?

what i bought: diane von furstenberg

Today I got this really really pretty top from Bloomingdales marked down from $285 to $50! I am all sorts of excited about it. I think the only reason I found it was because it wasn't on the sale rack, but tucked away with all their regular priced stuff. But omg, I love it. Even better is that it is still $285 at Net-A-Porter!
