what i wore: lumberjack.

Hope everyone had a great holiday! I'm off work today and it's back to the grindstone tomorrow, unfortunately. And, I have no idea still what I'm doing for NYE, much less what I'm wearing! But here's an outfit post. I've been wearing a lot of plaid lately, and I don't think I wear any other shoes but my Litas. But, I did happen just to purchase these with my birthday money in the velvet purple color, for a bit of variation. Though, no idea what I'm going to pair them with!

Anyway, here's me being a lumberjack.

love, true love

Check out Jonas Peterson's simply BEAUTIFUL wedding photography portfolio here. Every wedding set I've looked at is absolutely gorgeous! Above are two of my favorites (so cute!), but every single photo is worth a look.

alexander mcqueen: spring/summer lookbook 2011.

I always love love LOVE McQueen's stuff. This stuff is sooo wearable in comparison to their S/S 2011 runway show, and the pretty details on each are stunning! (And so glad the basket weave braids are still around too!) Seems like Sarah Burton is still staying true to McQueen. A bit more feminine, but I like it.

what i wore: just add suspenders.

I made a run to Zara last week and woah baby -- I am glad it takes a drive or a train ride to get there or else I think I'd be totally broke. But I love this blouse I got from there! Totally have been looking at this tunic top as well from Asos (love the swallow print!), but this one seemed more versatile. Apologies for the horrible quality photos lately, but it is FREEZING outside and flash photography makes me angry.

what i wore: she could be a farmer in those clothes.

So it totally snowed most of Saturday and Sunday, and I had SO MANY PLANS to do stuff. But welp, I opted to stay indoors most of the weekend instead of braving the freezing 19 degree weather that was going on outside. Get outta my face with that. Anyway, much of it was lounging around and being lazy. Which I think totally calls for some overalls. In case, you know, you need to like go outside and do some farming. Or maybe attend a 90s party. So yeah.

starry nights.

How fantastic is this starry crown from giantdwarf on etsy for upcoming holiday parties? I want one! I can imagine the silver or gold one paired with a pretty bright red or emerald green dress.

heat wave!

So I got my lipsticks from NARS I ordered (out of being totally in love with the colors in the J.Crew catalogs/lookbooks) -- so here's the first one. NARS lipstick in Heat Wave! And since it's snowing, I suppose I could use a little heat wave.

patchwork.

I totally love this crochet patchwork dress. It makes me wish I took up sewing so I could make something similar!

what i wore: museum day!

So, this weekend I went to The Museum of Science and Industry and man, that place is so cool. I haven't been there since I was little -- probably in elementary school for a field trip. They had this really awesome storm exhibit (complete with an actual tornado!) among other just cool things to look at. So much fun.

These were taken in a hallway full of mosaic-like spaced mirrors. Really really pretty.

try it out: lipstick.

So while I wait for my new NARS lipsticks, I figured I'd try to work with what I had in my makeup bag. I seriously have a tendency to buy lipsticks, wear them once, and then just give it up altogether. Does anyone else have this problem? When I wear lipstick (since I rarely wear it) I always feel like everyone's reaction is just "Oh, you're wearing lipstick!" to which I don't really take as a compliment and end up rubbing it off in the nearest bathroom. I don't think it looks bad, but I just get super self-conscious that everyone is staring at my lips.

what i wore: snow day!

One of the only redeeming qualities of snow/winter weather is I get to bring out my trapper hat (Shipped to me from Russia!). And yes, it really is that HUGE! The warmest thing I own, actually. After these shots were taken I immediately went inside, turned on the heat in my place, and watched Twilight: Eclipse. All in all, a good snowy day.

wunderkind: spring 2011

And while I really like a simple white collared shirt, there's something about Wunderkind's Spring 2011 line that I love. So colorful!

j.crew wannabe.

So maybe I'm totally the last person to know this, but a friend gave me a heads up to the Harper's Bazaar article that says that the lip color used for J.Crew that I've been dying to find is NARS Heat Wave (looks like it's still available at Sephora, the NARS website doesn't look like it has it anymore). So um. I gotta try this out.

what i wore: it's a man's world

It's snowing today! Can I say that I'm pretty sick of this cold weather already? I need to move to someplace that is forever warm, please. Anyway, I kind of wish I had a wardrobe full white collared shirts and other simple pieces lately. I got this shirt at Macy's from last year's Rachel by Rachel Roy line, and it's probably one of my favorite shirts. (Totally wrinkles instantly, but I like it nonetheless!) And you can't see them but my socks have snowflakes all over them. I'm ready for you, winter! (Ugh.)

what's your sign?

How gorgeous is this zodiac-inspired editorial from Vogue UK? (I'm a Scorpio, by the way!) I wish it came in calendar form!
