harnessed.

I got my leather harness by Zana Bayne! It was definitely worth the wait. I love it! The leather is so soft and not as stiff as my other one, too. And the color is a lot more versatile. And yes, I do realize I'm equating a leather harness to something "versatile" as ridiculous as it sounds. Ha, but I am planning my wardrobe choice for tomorrow night around it!

the claw.

I want a talon necklace. I love this one and this one.

shoe lust: somewhere over the rainbow...

Aren't these Salvatore Ferragamo platforms fabulous? I learned about them first when I so so badly wanted to get these shoes from Jeffrey Campbell, aptly named "Salvatore":

The original shoe was made for Judy Garland in 1938, seemingly in honor of her playing Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. (And he also apparently designed the ruby red slippers for the movie!) Somewhere over the Rainbow? Totally.

Sadly, I waited on buying the Jeffrey Campbell version, and now they are sold out. Totally kicking myself for that one. But what a cool history, huh?

what i wore: cat print.

While I'm not the biggest fan of cats, (I'm more of a dog person!) I just loved this sheer cat print shirt from Zara. It reminds me a lot of the cat print used in the Spring 2010 Miu Miu collection (and since Zara has a tendency to knock off a lot of designer stuff, they probably had it in mind when it was designed). I mean really, how CUTE is this?! Adorable, I tell you.

Anyway, I got this shirt and I've been wearing it a lot lately!

en pointe.

How great is this editorial in February 2011's Vogue Russia? Seems like ever since Black Swan opened, there is ballerina inspiration everywhere!

christopher kane: resort 2011.

I am totally enamored by Christopher Kane's Resort 2011 collection. Maybe it's because lately I've been watching the History Channel's series "The Universe" (on Netflix!) and being just plain amazed at all the crazy things in the universe, but I love the galaxy prints. (Especially this shirt.) There's a dress in a similar print on ASOS here, but I'd really like to have something more everyday wearable (and preferably not $300+, duh.).

what i wore: going out.

Is winter over yet? It's been in the single digits lately which doesn't motivate me at all to go outside or do...pretty much anything. Last weekend I went out, and this is what I wore. Probably one of my favorite shirts. And my new Jessica Simpson 6 inch heels (which are, surprisingly enough, super comfortable!).

hell yes.

Check out these RAD unicorn rings by etsy seller Rabid Fox. I think I just HAVE to get one!

bought. (because i'm a wee bit harness obsessed)

So I love my black harness, and wear it pretty much all the time. So I got this tan one from Zana Bayne!

classic.

I love these photos taken by Peter Lindbergh.  Cindy, Amber, Milla, Christy -- You can't debate that these were some of the greatest -- the only true supermodels!

into the gloss.

I've been checking out a new makeup blog, Into The Gloss, and in a recent post they highlighted the making of the hair styled by Alexander Queen's recent collections. Looks like all you need is a few flat irons, some extra hair extensions, a few extra pairs of hands...and probably a LOT of hairspray, and you'd be totally set! Check it out here.

what i wore: tulle!

I've always been really into tulle skirts and tulle anything! I'd say this makes a ballerina wannabe, however I'm not the most coordinated (or flexible, for that matter) person in the world, so scratch that idea. But when I saw this skirt this week at F21, I had to get it.

style inspiration: florence welch.

So, I have a total crush on Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine. Her debut album Lungs is so amazing that I've had it on repeat since I purchased it last year. Such and interesting voice and...dare I say it, she wears her hotpants much better than Gaga! So very whimsical and stylish, and I absolutely adore her red hair.

Any my absolute favorite video of hers:

Dreamy!

happy 2011 (and a what i wore)!

Hope everyone had a fantastic New Year! Mine was alright -- it always seems as if New Years is sort of a "forced fun" type of thing in my opinion -- like if you don't have a greatest most awesome time, then it kind of sucks or is disappointing. But I had pizza at the end of the night, so I was happy all in all.

I didn't end up getting too many photos on NYE, but before I went out I managed to snap this camera in mirror shot:

(Please totally excuse my mess of a room - the end result of trying on way too many things. In which, I might add, I ALMOST didn't end up with this outfit since well....I tried on this other dress I had and had trouble getting out of it. I thought I might get stuck in it forever and even contemplated having to cut myself out of it....oops.)

Anyway.
