Okay. So now are you are ready? For the jelly. Fish. Jellyfish. I got these yesterday, and I told myself this would be the last pair of James Lillis' Black Milk Clothing printed leggings I bought. BUT man if they haven't swayed me into buying more. Not because I don't like them or anything (they are totally awesome, for the record) but my dilemma is: HOW does one fit printed leggings into their wardrobe? I mean, I feel like I could have pulled this off in high school or something, but now? There's only so many places these are appropriate, now that I'm supposed to be some sort of adult. But I think the jellyfish are stinging my brain somehow through these leggings because MAN THEY ARE COOL I WANT TO WEAR BLACK MILK LEGGINGS ALL THE TIME. Time to plan a trip to the Shedd Aquarium. I'm wearing these babies to the Jellies exhibit, for sure. And maybe everywhere else.

I have a love/hate relationship with these shoes. I got them last year, and yes, while they are awesome and all that, they remind me of winter nearing and UGH PLEASE NO. I used to trek in these babies all over town in the snow, and the 6 inch platform aides as leverage in the several feet of it we got last year (and I surprisingly didn't break an ankle). I'm feeling like this might be my last Chicago winter, though. I can't take much more of this whole snow thing, you know? But football season started today, and so it begins, as we transition into fall. I did a little change up on the laces to plain white -- I think now they look more like rollerskates which is RAD. I think instead of walking I'll just mime skate in these from now on.
Prabal Gurung's Spring 2012 RTW collection. Um, yes please? Maybe I'm partial because Zana Bayne collaborated with him and designed the harnesses/belts for this collection, but the vibrant prints and combination of both tough leather and delicate floral prints MAKES ME SO HAPPY.
(It's a nice day for a white wedding.) My cousin just got married, and I finally put this Catherine Malandrino dress to use. I think I've had it for at least 5 years now, and I've never worn it. When I first bought it it didn't fit very well, but since then I've been on a strict diet of chicken nuggets so now it's almost too small for me. Oops. I also went to the TopShop on Michigan Avenue opening this past Thursday and got this really weird eyeball ring:
Hey guys! I'm happy to share with you that I paired up with Emma of Très Awesome to do a Blogger Spotlight on my blog! It was super cool meeting Emma and she snapped a few photos of me for her street style blog. AND I am very happy to show you my new Zana Bayne harness -- DANG, right?! I love that thing. The night before these pictures were taken, I learned how to do a 5-part braid, and let me tell ya, you kind of need another set of arms to do it. But once you do it a few times, you're good to go! I used this tutorial by this sweet little lady if you want to try it (thank god for the internets):
This top was originally white AND blue, but I was a total ding-a-ling and threw it into the wash on accident and the blue decided it wanted to declare war on the white, sadly. I had thought I had ruined it forever, but then I went "Hey, I bet I could just dye it ALL blue with some fabric dye!" and here we are, ladies and gents. I dig.
What's up internet friends? I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend free of labor, or if you're unemployed you just continued to not work and it was just another Monday where you sat on the couch without pants on (and I totally give you good job finding vibes!). But behold! A unicorn on my shirt! I got this shirt a bajillion years ago, probably at Delia*s given the Paul Frank-ness of it, and now it either shrank or I got too big for it, so I chopped it and am wearing it over a maxi dress because I'm resourceful like that and would be too sad to throw this shirt out. Because unicorns, you know, they are fantastic.

I know, I know, I know. I said I wasn't going to make any more shopping purchases (but what's the purpose of this blog then, huh?) but c'mon -- they're JELLYFISH LEGGINGS, people. The Shedd Aquarium here in Chicago has a Jellies exhibit running too, and I've been dying to go so umm...it's kinda fate or something.
